Sunday October 22, 2017 – Pet First Aid Certificate Course
Registration opening fall 2017!
Lynda is certified as a Pet First Aid Instructor through Walks ‘n’ Wags Pet First Aid, an internationally recognized organization and the longest standing Pet First Aid course in Canada.
Registration is closed. Check back early fall 2017.
Both courses are people-only events, please arrange alternate accommodations for your dog
Spots are limited, register early to avoid disappointment.

Pet First Aid Certificate Course
This 10 hour certificate course covers everything from prevention to treatment of illness and injury as well as information on how to keep your pet in optimal health. Topics include:
- internal & external bleeding
- choking & seizures
- fractures & sprains
- poisons & allergic reactions
- heat & cold injuries
- artificial respiration & CPR
- and much, much more…
Participants will practise bandaging skills as well as artificial respiration and CPR Skills on CasPeR, the CPR dog, and Fluffy the CPR cat. These life-like industry standard mechanical CPR mannequins ensure that participants learn exactly the right technique and life saving skills. This course is appropriate for both dog owners and industry professionals. Upon successful completion of the course and exam, participants will receive a certificate valid for 3 years. The program qualifies for:
- 8.5 CEU credits for IAABC members
- 8.5 CEU credits for CBCC certified by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers
- 11 CEU credits for CPDT certified by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers
Those in the Pet Industry may utilize the Walks ‘N’ Wags logo on your website to verify completion of the program. Additionally, you’ll be added to the Walks ‘N’ Wags professional page and the K9 Compass Business Grads page.

Light refreshments will be provided in the morning and at breaks. Participants will need to arrange for their own lunch – there are restaurants nearby.
Off The Grid: Pet First Aid for the Outdoor Enthusiast
For the first time, Lynda is offering Off the Grid to Guelph residents!
A valid certificate from the standard course is required to participate in Off The Grid. Participants are welcome to earn this certificate in the March 19th seminar.
WHO SHOULD TAKE OFF THE GRID?
Outdoor enthusiasts, backpackers, farmers, hunters, campers, people living in remote communities, dog walkers, hikers, cabin owners, people wanting additional training, people living in areas without easily accessible Veterinary care.
The skills can also be applied in urban areas in times of disaster when Veterinary care is not easily accessible.

To attend OFF THE GRID, participants must have completed the Walks’N’Wags initial Pet First Aid program at any location within the past 3 years.
OFF THE GRID is a 3 hour Certification program, with certification earned upon successful completion of the course and exam.
This workshop is not currently on the schedule.
